Why You Should Have A Cat Carrier For Kitty

Are you planning a trip and want to take kitty with you?  A cat carrier is a necessity in this case. While some are expensive, others such as cardboard models are affordable.  Learn why a using a carrier is a must when traveling.

Safety is very important.  If your pet is loose, a quick stop could cause him or her to be injured when slammed against a seat or worse, completely ejected from the car in an accident.  You might also get hit by the loose animal and injured. An unconfined cat could cause distractions for you.  For example, the feline could panic and need to be restrained while you are driving down the road.  Unrestrained animals can also make their way under your feet and cause braking or acceleration issues.  Some like to ride in your lap, but a deploying airbag could be life-ending.

Comfort is also a concern.  Felines like the security of their own enclosed space, particularly when they are in unfamiliar situations.  Since they are more comfortable, they may even fall asleep.  They also aren’t as likely to see a dog or other sight out the window that throws them into a panic.

Fewer messes are another bonus.  Some cats get very stressed when traveling.  This could cause vomiting, urinating or bowel movements.  Cleaning up the mess will be easier from a pet carrier rather than on the floor of your car.  You are likely to not have as much fur flying around your vehicle, too.

You also need to think about how you will get the cat out of the car and to your destination.  Going to the vet?  Kitty might not be cooperative.  Your kitty could escape from you and get lost.

Do you have several pets that you need to transport at the same time?  A separate crate for each one is best.  This will avoid fights while driving down the road if they are loose or even housed in the same crate.  You also won’t have to worry about them hurting each other in case of an accident.

cat carrier is a necessity for your pet’s well-being and comfort as well as reducing messes for you to clean up.  The ride will be safer for the humans in the vehicle, too.
