Can two cats fit into the KatKabin?

Yes the KatKabin is big enough fit two cats. However cats do like their own space and will only share the KatKabin if they already enjoy being cozy with others.

I am worried that the colour will fade after a few months outside in the sun and rain. Will this happen?

The KatKabin is constructed from durable materials designed to resist the effects of ultraviolet light. However all coloured plastics will fade and degrade eventually so reduce this chance by locating your KatKabin in a shady area. Try to choose a sheltered location for your KatKabin out of direct sunlight. Your cat will prefer it and the materials will maintain their colour and finish for longer. Replacement coloured panels are available from the manufacturer if required and are easy to fit.

How can I keep the KatKabin clean?

This is very simple. Just wipe your KatKabin inside and out with a cloth, warm water and normal household detergent.

The KatKushion has a removable cover which is washable at up to 60 degrees with a normal detergent. After being dried thoroughly, put the cover back on the pad and place lengthways inside the KatKabin. Gently tuck each end of the cushion into the recess in the ends of the KatKabin to make it flat and comfy.

What makes you think that my cat would like to use the KatKabin?

Cats in general like hiding away in enclosed spaces. The KatKabin is an enclosed space with only one opening on the front, very much like a hole in the ground. That makes your cat feel very secure. Cats are also naturally very inquisitive and clever. They soon discover that a KatKabin is a great place to have a snooze, being a safe haven from which they can watch the world go by. The KatFlap door provides for extra warmth during the very cold days and nights in winter but your cat might like to get used to the KatKabin first before you attach it. You can do this very easily by just clipping the door on from the outside.

I want to put the KatKabin in front of my house but I am worried that it could be stolen. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Yes. Each ’foot’ has a fixing slot to allow the KatKabin to be fixed to surfaces as necessary. Screw into concrete or wooden decking or use tent pegs into earth.

I have noticed that it stands off the floor. Is there a reason for this?

Yes, the ground can be very cold in winter. The air space between the bottom of the KatKabin and the ground helps to insulate and maintain the temperature inside.

The KatKabin looks very good but why is it oval?

The oval shape helps the air circulate inside. Warm air is not trapped at the top as in other shapes but circulates around. The other reason is that, because of its aero-dynamic shape, any wind moves around and past the KatKabin, rather than.

I live in, and operate from Australia. Having migrated there from Pondicherry, India in October 1985, I had to under go a total laryngectomy operation in July 1995, as a permanent cure for cancer of the larynx, I had to learn to speak again at the age of 49, and till to-day continue to speak with the help of a voice prosthesis.

In 2003, things so happened, that I faced the imminent threat of not being able to use a voice prosthesis any more. When this happens I would become a ‘mute’, totally speechless, creating the need for me to find alternative employment wherein I could work without having to talk.

In May 2004 an American company StoresOnline Inc, of Orem Utah, held a workshop in Melbourne, Australia, promoting ‘Internet Marketing’, and their web hosting services. This was what I was looking for.

As an Internet Merchant, emails and published WebPages would do all my talking for me. I purchased a package of 6 websites.

To the question ‘what do I sell on these websites’, was told to try and sell things that I had a passion for, understood, and used a lot. My passions are Animals, especially Cats, Children, Photography and Gift giving, not necessarily in that order.

When I started this venture in May 2004, I discovered that Australians were not yet ready to trust the Internet as a Market Place. Building websites to sell consumer products to the Australian market would have been pointless.

The best International Market I could find was the 48 continental states of the USA. The first site that went live in August 2004 was www.catbedandtoy.com, and gradually the other five followed.

All the products I sell are purchased from manufacturers and distributors in the USA. They send what I buy directly to my customers, cutting out the middle men, thereby making it feasible for me to sell at discount prices.

This is a business venture and the only means of livelihood for me and my dependants. This eing the case, I am Honest and Professional, qualities without which, I cannot succeed in this highly competitive business.

I now own numerous websites. All sites apart from the first SIX have been recently added to help promote the first six sites and to augment my income. Currently my two most important websites are, from the first six Cat Scratching Furniture, and Armarkat Cat Furniture on which I sell physical cat furniture items to destinations in the 48 states of the USA ONLY.
