My rescue kitty lives outdoors and I needed a safe shelter for her. My husband secured this in the fork of a tree with the door facing south (protection from north winds) and it took her no time at all to start sleeping in it. We haven't tried the door, because she likes to look out.

We added a small, old bath rug under the cushion and she has spent a full day here during a serious rain storm. I no longer have to worry about the coyotes or roving dogs getting her at night.

We've had it 3 months and it has held up well so far. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I bought this for a feral cat that I had been feeding for 5 months and was living in bad conditions and I needed to relocate her to my front yard.

I bought the premium version with the warm cushy insert and door flap. It took awhile for her to learn going in and out of the flap (used yummy wet food to intice her), but she was a pro after a couple of days and just in time for the rain! I would feed her inside of it, to get her use to being safe and going in.

She was warm and snug in it and it also protected her from the nosey neighborhood cats. I was concerned about getting her a shelter that was warm and dry through the rainy and cold nights and this is it! On top of that, it's very stylish and looks great out front..

Top Choice in a Feral Cat Colony

I buy one of these Kat Kabins every year and put it out for a collection of feral cats.

Other people put out outdoor cat shelters, too, and this is by far the best one.

The cats really like it and it doesn't leak like the Igloos. (Look at the seam along the bottom of one of those Igloos--water comes in there.)

Also, the cats like to climb on top of it to see things from their perch and it has a rubberized type covering so cats and their claws can get a good, comfy grip.

Also, there is a hole in one of the legs where you can string through a bike chain and secure it to a nearby pole or something so someone can't steal it.

While I would prefer my cats to remain indoors, the doggy door has proven to be too great a temptation.

We do insist on bringing the little guys in every evening, but I never know when they may need a place to hide from one of the many predators roaming our Colorado neighborhood.

The panel was anxious to investigate their sleek new home and "Buddha the Brave" had no qualms about checking out the den's interior and hanging out for awhile.

The KatKabin has quickly become his favorite place to catnap and, knowing that our kitties have a hideaway tucked discretely under a bush in our backyard, it has given me some much needed peace of mind. Great for small dogs too!
